Getting started
What is The Cognitive Muse?
The Cognitive Muse is a creative and sales platform for out-of-home advertising. The studio turns short prompts into polished ad creative using deliberate, behind-the-scenes prompt engineering — and the built-in CRM tools carry the rest of the sale: find the buyer, pitch with a proposal map, close with e-signature, and prove the campaign ran. Every piece is saved in your Library permanently.
How do I create my first piece?
Go to the Studio tab, type a short prompt describing what you want (e.g., “a quiet morning beach with soft fog”), and click generate. After a few seconds your image appears in the canvas and is added to your Library.
Why does generation take a few seconds?
Each piece runs through a multi-step pipeline: input screening, prompt elaboration, image rendering, and output screening. We’d rather wait a beat and ship something clean than rush and ship something off-style or unsafe.
Credits
How do credits work?
Credits are the in-app currency that pays for generation. Each new generation (one new piece — 5-up engines return up to 5 concept images) costs 10 credits (1 credit = $1). Your balance is shown at the top of every page next to the brand bar.
What do things cost?
All prices are in credits (1 credit = $1). The big-ticket items:
Smaller utility runs (critiques, analyses, drafts) are 1–3 credits and are labeled on their own tabs; failed renders are always refunded automatically.
| New piece (one generation — a 5-up of up to 5 concept images) | 10 |
| Refinements | first 10 per piece free, then 5 credits unlocks 10 more |
| Campaigns (Seasonal calendar · Life events · Daypart rotation) | 2 per piece |
| Chat | 1 per message |
| All Formats resize | 1 per resized image |
| Video Pitch (avatar video) | 25 per video |
Where do credits come from?
Two sources: your monthly subscription allocation (deposited automatically each billing cycle) and one-time credit packs you can buy from the Account tab.
Do refinements cost credits?
Your first 10 refinements on a piece are free. After that, 5 credits unlocks each additional block of 10 refinements, up to a hard cap of 100 refinements per piece. Starting a new piece costs 10 credits.
Do credits expire?
Credits you buy in a top-up pack are good for 12 months from the date of purchase. We’ll email you 30 days and 7 days before any expire, and your account always shows what’s expiring and when. Credits bought before this policy took effect on July 31, 2026 don’t expire. When you create, plan credits are always spent first, then the purchased credits closest to expiring.
What happens if a generation fails?
If the system fails to deliver an image (technical error, not a content rejection), your credits are automatically refunded. If your prompt is rejected by moderation, the credits are still refunded for that attempt.
Subscriptions & billing
What are the subscription tiers?
Four paid tiers, billed monthly. Each ad set is one generation — a 5-up of up to 5 concept images:
- Starter — $99 / mo · 10 client ad sets (up to 50 images)
- Pro — $499 / mo · 50 client ad sets (up to 250 images)
- Enterprise — $999 / mo · 100 client ad sets (up to 500 images) — unlocks the full Enterprise tool set
- Enterprise+ — custom volume, onboarding & dedicated support — contact sales
Can I change my plan?
Yes. From the Account tab, click Manage subscription to open the billing portal. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
How do I cancel?
Open Manage subscription from the Account tab and click cancel. Your plan stays active through the end of the current billing period, so any unused credits remain available. We won’t bill you again.
Can I get a refund?
Per our Terms of Service, purchases are final and non-refundable except where required by law. The one automatic exception: if a generation fails or is blocked by moderation, the credits for that attempt are refunded to your balance instantly. If you believe a charge is a billing error, reach out through the contact form and we’ll take a look.
What credit cards do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), Apple Pay, and Google Pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; no card data ever touches our servers.
Are prices shown including tax?
Prices are shown pre-tax. Per our Terms of Service, fees are exclusive of taxes — you’re responsible for any applicable sales tax or VAT.
Image rights & usage
Who owns the art I generate, and how can I use it?
The rights are the same on every plan — they come with your paid generation, not your subscription tier. You keep full ownership of everything you upload (your logos, photos, and brand assets). For the generated art itself, the AI Art User Agreement grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use and display it commercially: on the out-of-home and billboard faces you own or control, and as sample creative in your sales and marketing materials (website, social, proof-of-play reports, RFP responses, and media kits). Because purely AI-generated work may not be copyrightable, we grant these rights by license rather than a guarantee of copyright, and the art is provided “as is” — you’re responsible for clearing any third-party brands, names, or likenesses before you publish.
Can I sell prints or merchandise of my pieces?
No. Your license covers displaying the art on the out-of-home and billboard faces you control and using it in your own sales and marketing materials — it does not allow reselling the art files or reproducing them on prints or merchandise for sale. That limit is the same on every plan.
Can I publish my generations on social media?
Yes, on any plan. Your license expressly covers using photos or short clips of your art on your website and social accounts as sample creative and marketing collateral. As always, clear any third-party brands or likenesses first, and don’t present spec concepts as an advertiser’s approved creative unless you have that authorization.
Do you claim any rights to my generations?
We hold a limited license to store, display, and serve your images back to you, and to use them anonymously for safety and model-quality monitoring. We do not use your generations for advertising or to train third-party models.
Content policy
What kind of content is not allowed?
We don’t allow content that depicts minors in any sexual or suggestive context (zero tolerance), incites violence against real people or groups, infringes copyright or trademark, or attempts to deceive (deepfakes, forgeries, fraudulent documents). The full policy lives in our Terms of Service.
Why was my prompt rejected?
Every prompt is screened by an automated moderation model before and after generation. If it flags violent, sexual, illegal, or other policy-violating content above our thresholds, the request is blocked and your credits are refunded. The rejection reason shown in the UI is the broad category — not the specific trigger phrase — to prevent abuse.
I think my prompt was rejected unfairly. What now?
Moderation models are imperfect and false positives happen. Try rewording the prompt to be more specific and concrete. If you believe a specific phrase is consistently mis-flagged, contact us with the exact wording and we’ll review.
Can I generate images of real people?
Generation of recognizable real public figures is restricted to non-defamatory, non-sexual, clearly artistic uses. For any real person, our Acceptable Use terms require that you have the rights and consent to depict them — we don’t verify consent on your behalf, so that responsibility is yours. Anything that could plausibly be mistaken for a real person doing something they didn’t do is prohibited, and we remove violations on report.
Privacy & security
Is my prompt visible to other users?
No. Your prompts and your generated images are private to your account. Other users have no way to see them. The Library tab only shows your own pieces.
Do you use my prompts to train AI?
We do not train AI models on your prompts or images. We use them only to serve you and, in aggregate and anonymized form, to monitor safety and quality.
How is my account secured?
Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes (never in plaintext). Sessions use signed JWT tokens with rotating refresh tokens. Payment data is handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store card numbers.
Can I delete my account?
Yes — go to Account → Danger zone, enter your password, and type DELETE. This permanently erases your uploaded content, library images, and CRM data, scrambles your login, and cancels active subscriptions. For legal and tax reasons we retain a limited set of records (such as payment/invoice history, consent records, and an anonymized commission ledger). If your account is under a legal hold, deletion is paused until the hold is lifted. Want a copy of your data first? Use Account → Download my data.
Technical
What resolutions are available?
Generations come in square (1024 × 1024), portrait (1024 × 1536), and landscape (1536 × 1024) formats. Every plan renders at full resolution — HD generation is included on all tiers, not gated to higher plans. And that’s just the starting point: when you need true large-format output, the “Make print-ready” option (in Export for print) runs an AI super-resolution pass on your artwork at no credit cost, multiplying the pixel count so the file passes print preflight for vinyl and other grand-format work.
What format are the images?
PNG by default, optimized for both screen display and print. You can right-click any piece in your Library to save the full-resolution file.
Is there an API?
Not yet — there’s no public API on any plan today. If you want programmatic generation for a specific use case, contact us to discuss.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Send us an email with a short description, the time it happened, and ideally the prompt you used. Screenshots help a lot. We read every report.
Outdoor sales & CRM
What is the “revenue loop”?
The Cognitive Muse covers the whole outdoor sale end to end: find clients in Lead Gen, design their billboard in Studio, pitch it with a Proposal Map, sign and collect a deposit in Close the Deal, and prove it ran in Proof of Posting — then keep faces full with Vacancy & Renewals. These all live under the CRM menu, listed in that order.
How do I find clients to pitch?
Open Lead Gen, pick one of your faces as the search center, set a radius and category, and discover nearby businesses scored for fit. Check the ones worth pursuing and enrich them to reveal a decision-maker’s name and email, then promote them to your Clients list. Both steps are metered lightly: 1 credit covers roughly 25 discovered businesses, and enrichment runs about 5 contacts per credit — only contacts that actually return info are counted.
What is the Proposal Map?
A shareable, brand-themed map of the faces you’re pitching — each marker shows the client’s logo and swaps to the pinned artwork when you zoom in. Add flight dates and a rate per face and it works out the audience and CPM, so the price is justified. Export a Letter-size PDF or send a public link.
How do I send an Insertion Order and get it signed?
In Close the Deal, generate the Insertion Order, send it for e-signature (the client gets a private signing link), collect a deposit, and mark the campaign booked. Every step is recorded for an audit trail. It’s free — no credits.
Can I use my own Insertion Order instead of the standard one?
Yes — in Contract Templates, upload your own paper (PDF, Word, or photos). It’s read into editable fields and terms so Close the Deal can e-sign your document instead of the generic one. Proofread carefully before going live — OCR can introduce small errors in dense legal copy.
What is Proof of Posting?
After a campaign runs, Proof of Posting assembles the proof for your client: an install photo, run dates, and delivered impressions per face (labeled as vendor-reported or estimated — never presented as audited). Share it as a PDF or a public link, and use it to open the renewal conversation.
What does Vacancy & Renewals do?
It reads your inventory and your bookings together so you can see every empty face and every campaign coming up for renewal, and draft renewal follow-ups. Auto-send stays off until you turn it on — nothing emails a client without you.
Where do my clients and leads live?
In the Clients tab — your CRM. Leads you promote from Lead Gen land here as Prospects; from a client you can track contacts, brand colors, and placements, and file new designs under them.
