Our commitment

The Cognitive Muse is committed to making our application usable by everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, the standard U.S. courts and the Department of Justice reference for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

What we’ve built

• A visible keyboard focus indicator on every interactive control.
• A “Skip to main content” link and semantic landmarks (header, nav, main).
• Text and secondary-text colors adjusted to meet the AA 4.5:1 contrast ratio.
• Programmatic labels and error messaging on form controls.
• Live-region announcements for status changes (renders, errors, progress).
• Respect for the operating-system “reduce motion” setting.
• Descriptive text alternatives on images and accessible names on icon buttons.

Known limitations

We are actively improving these areas:

• Canvas editing tools (Object Remover, Annotate, Crop) are pointer-driven. Each task also has a non-canvas path (AI prompt-select, value/region selection); we are formalizing fully keyboard-operable equivalents.
• AI-generated artwork may contain text baked into the image that is not machine-readable. We surface the supplied copy (business name, headline, contact details) as the image’s description.
• Generated PDFs are being upgraded to tagged, reading-order-correct documents.

How we keep it accessible

Accessibility is built into shared UI primitives, so improvements apply across the whole app and new features inherit them by default. We audit with automated tooling and manual screen-reader and keyboard testing.
